You have come to the right spot if your curiosity is sparked by becoming a Backdoor Prepper. You've probably read Gaye LEVY and James Wesley Rawles and are now eager to find more. Doing the Stuff

Back-door prep is stocking up on supplies for the event of a disaster. Backdoor Prepping is not new. People have been doing this for years. However, it has only recently become more mainstream. The world has become increasingly interconnected, and is now under threat from multiple threats. How can we be ready for the unexpected?

Gaye Levy

Gaye Levy is a back door prepper who lives in rural Washington. While living on San Juan Island, Gaye Levy started prepping in 2010. At the time, the economy was in turmoil and people were angry at losing middle class jobs. A high level of terrorist alert meant that the community was constantly on alert for natural disasters. Levy knew that she had to take action in order to survive. Levy wrote books and launched a website called Backdoor survival.

Backdoor Survival provides a wealth of information. Although Gaye Levy started this website more than ten year ago, it's still extremely informative. Gaye Levy has since retired, but you can still find many excellent articles on this site. The site is focused on living and satisfying your basic needs while still enjoying your life. It also has many tips about storing food, essential oils, and home-made beauty products.

James Wesley Rawles

James Wesley Rawles is an expert on backdoor prepping. He was a former U.S Army intelligence officer, and has written extensively about issues such as end-of–civilization. Although he's not a former military officer or an NSA contractor, he's a passionate prepper and has learned many survival techniques. Rawles' Survival Life website provides information about self-defense, prepping and bushcraft. Rawles has a simple approach to survival.

COVID pandemic

The COVID epidemic is a once-in a lifetime event that has inspired the 'backdoor preppper' mentality. 43% have considered moving to less-populated areas because of it. Nassim Talab points out that when an event is rare we tend to ignore it, making it appear like it could have happened. The COVID pandemic sparked this 'prepper mindset' in its early stages.

trapping training

A recent study examined male and female COVID-19-related panic-buying behaviors and found that males were more likely to stockpile, as well as to report higher rates of fear and anxiety. Psychopathology and anxiety are two of the psychological factors that lead to prepping behavior. There was also a higher rate of panic-buying in males with traditional masculinity characteristics. These findings can be used to help develop community response strategies targeting cognitive factors like fear and panic purchasing.

How To

How to preserve food for survival

It is best to dry food when it is in urgent need. Drying food helps preserve them for longer. It also reduces bacteria growth.

Dried fruits are great for snacking on during an emergency because they don't require any preparation. Dried fruits are easy to transport and can be eaten as much as you like without worrying about weight gain.

A dehydrator can be used to dry fruit at home, but it is more efficient to use a solar oven. To dry any type of food, you could use a sun oven, such as meats, fish, vegetables and grains.

When preserving food, it is essential to make sure that the container is airtight. This stops oxygen from entering the container, which can cause food to spoil. It is not necessary to add preservatives if you seal the container well enough.

If you do decide to add preservatives, try adding salt first. Salt is a good way to prevent mold growth. Then follow this with vinegar. Vinegar kills harmful bacteria and prevents mold growth.

To get started, you'll need to cut up your food into small pieces. You can use scissors or a knife. It is important to pack everything tightly so that air doesn't get in the container.

Next, place your food in a ziploc bag. Cover the bag with plastic and let it dry somewhere warm.

Once food has dried completely, it can be stored in a sealed container. You must be careful not to allow anything to touch the food.
